What is the Phantom?
The Phantom is a new game console (like PS2 or Xbox) being built by Infinium Labs.

The Phantom is the first broadband game console. Instead of going out and buying games, you download them or pay-per-play.

Still, what's so great about this thing?
First, you can demo a game before playing. Remember, these games are downloaded. You don't need to go to EB or Best Buy or whatever to get games. It will be simple to use. Infinium Labs says that small children can use it and parents can relax knowing the parental controls are set. There will be over 50,000 games (fifty thousand) and 5,000 of them multiplayer. Another great thing about it is the ability to play against PC gamers through your Phantom. The Phantom comes with a wireless controller, a wireless network card, 2.0+ Ghz CPU, a big hard drive, and Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Its price is thus far unconfirmed.

When and where can i get it?
Infinium says a December 2003 release, but this is unlikely in my opinion. An estimate in the May 2003 edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly (pg. 40) says it may cost over , but people said that about Xbox, which now costs . We may get more specifics at the Elctronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which is May 13-15.
